From her background as a nutrition expert, she obtained her Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science and Nutrition from Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland. She gave life to Geneobe Wellness, a young start up specialising in personalised wellness & weight loss solutions enabled by the recent science of nutritional genomics. She has counselled more than 3000 individuals giving them diet prescriptions based on their genetic make-up. Her forte is her thirst for learning about the nutrient- gene interaction and the latest developments in the field of nutrigenetics and aims at translating the scientific, evidence based knowledge into precise, personalised lifestyle recommendations for health promotion and diet- related complex diseases prevention.
She is an experienced geneticist who has completed her PhD from BITS Pilani. Driven by passion for teaching and research she takes pride in providing the best. In her earlier days of carrier she has worked as research fellow in SNONGC Dept of Genetics and Molecular biology under an INDO_US project for a period of two years and an ICMR funded project for a span of 3 years. She also received travel fellowship grant award at the IERG conference held in CCMB, Hyderabad and for "Ranbaxy young scientist" held in Ranbaxy centre- Gurgaon. Her role as senior scientist geneticist at Xcode life sciences, India sharpened her knowledge in the field of nutrigenetics.
She is a scientist in biomedical research. She acquired her PhD in Microbiology from BITS PILANI Hyderabad campus in collaboration with L&T Microbiology Research Centre, Sankara Nethralaya Chennai. She was awarded with a DST grant in the year 2018, ICMR SRF and Swarnalatha Punshi endowment award for the best research fellow in the year 2013. She has also received travel fellowships to participate in a couple of scientific conferences. She is interested in interdisciplinary translational research. Currently she works on cancer biology and interested in looking into cancer stem cell markers, cancer cell signaling and importance of oncobiome in cancer. Her areas of expertise include Microbiology, Stem cell biology and Cancer cell signaling. She has published her research works in peer reviewed journals.
A PhD in Medical Microbiology (Faculty of Medicine) from University of Madras, India, Priya has more than 7 years of experience in research as well as teaching medical and post graduate students. She has worked extensively in Bacteriology and Immunology with special reference to, horizontal transfer of drug resistant genes in the human gut, mechanisms of drug resistance in Enterobacteriaceae, and immuno-pathogenesis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. She has been awarded University First Rank in her Masters', DST-INSPIRE award for pursuing research, ICOM travel award to attend ECCMID 2016 Amsterdam, Netherlands to present her research findings; and prizes in paper presentations. She believes firmly in multi-disciplinary research and is constantly seeking to broaden her knowledge horizon.
She is an able researcher with a PhD in genetics from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani. She has been trained in genetic counselling and her expertise is on the analysis and interpretation of big data from Next generation sequencing technology (NGS) platforms for molecular diagnosis of diseases. She has 5 articles published in reputed international journals to her credit. She was awarded travel fellowship to attend and present her work in Indian Eye Research Group (IERG) and NextGen Genomics, Biology, Bioinformatics and Technologies (NGBT) Conference. She is a recipient of the Swarnalatha Punshi Award for Best Research in Basic Science (2015) by Vision Research Foundation and awarded best poster in ASIA ARVO, the association for research in vision and ophthalmology (2013) for her work.
He holds an honorary position as a Lecturer in Genetic Epidemiology at the University College London, UK. He did his post-doctoral training at the MRC Epidemiology unit (Cambridge, UK) and senior research fellowship at the University College London (UK). He has received advanced training in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London, UK. His primary research interests focus on the investigation of gene-nutrient interactions on metabolic- and CVD-related outcomes using combined approaches from genetic epidemiology, statistical genetics and molecular biology. His long-term goal is to use the findings from observational studies to carry out human intervention studies with a view towards developing industrial collaborations to facilitate 'Personalized Nutrition'.
She has a degree in Nutrition from the State University of Paraná (Guarapuava, Brazil) and completed her PhD in Food Science at the University of São Paulo - USP (São Paulo, Brazil) and did her postdoctoral program, one at the same institution and another at the Federal University of São Paulo – UNIFESP (São Paulo, Brazil). A former employee at Centro de Genomas (São Paulo, Brazil), and was one of the professionals who developed the first Brazil's Nutrigenetics test. She is an organizer, together with Profa. Dr. Cristiane Cominetti and Dr. Marcelo Macedo Rogero of the book "Nutritional Genomics: From the Fundamentals to Molecular Nutrition".
